- ➤ QuEra Computing, Roadrunner Venture Studies, and state officials announced a $4 million quantum testbed partnership to boost skilled jobs + workforce training and support startups in New Mexico; construction is expected to start this year. KOAT

- ➤ Farmington has a week of events. Madagascar: A Musical Adventure JR. runs Feb 19–21 at the Children’s Theatre, an art exhibition is open until Feb 13 at a gallery, Broadway for Brunch is on Feb 7 at school commons, and a charity dinner takes place Feb 6 at the casino. Farmington Local News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The New Mexico Environment Department launched LeakTracer — a satellite-based program using L-band radar data and AI to detect water leaks in rural water systems in five towns, and it verified 78 leaks with 345,000 gallons saved daily during the first half of 2025. KOAT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The New Mexico Department of Transportation warns residents that text messages claiming unpaid toll fees are scams (there are no toll roads) and that it will never ask for payment over text. KOAT
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ New Mexico Department of Health said an infant died from listeria that may be linked to the mother drinking raw milk while pregnant. Health officials urged pregnant women to use only pasteurized milk to help prevent illness. KOAT
- ➤ A bill addressing New Mexico's doctor shortage (Senate Bill 1) is awaiting the governor's signature after unanimously passing the House. Fred Nathan of Think New Mexico says the compact will license out-of-state doctors, benefiting patients until a decision is made within 72 hours. KOAT
