- ➤ Farmington has a busy week of cultural events. A free Chinese New Year Experience runs on Feb. 12 at San Juan College’s Marion Rooms, a comedy show is set on Feb. 14 at Sunray Park and Casino, and local venues host theatrical and museum exhibits through Apr. 27. Farmington Local News
- ➤ The New Mexico Route 66 Association has unveiled a centennial coin to celebrate 100 years of the Mother Road. The limited-edition coin, of which only 250 exist, features a roadrunner, cactus & Zia design to honor local heritage. KOAT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The New Mexico Racing Commission approved Western Gaming LLC’s request to move SunRay Park’s racing license from Farmington to Clovis during a Tuesday meeting. Horse racing at SunRay Park will continue for the 2026 season — local officials expressed concerns over the change. KOAT
- ➤ Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham regrets signing the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) in 2019, a law blamed for infant deaths. She signed an executive order last June to remove drug-addicted infants from their parents, and critics question if this change will hold during the gubernatorial election season. KOAT
