EDUCATION NEWS

  • Four Corners Search and Rescue is teaching search and rescue skills in an after school program at Navajo Preparatory School in Farmington today. The group uses real mission experience to help students learn safety techniques and plans to expand the program to more schools + strengthen community readiness.  KOAT

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The New Mexico Forestry Division has implemented statewide fire restrictions on non-municipal, non-federal, and non-tribal lands amid dry, warm conditions and high winds that increase wildfire risk. The restrictions limit smoking, fireworks, campfires, burning, and flaring — they will remain until officials rescind them.  KOAT
