GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • San Juan County crews are repairing Road 350 near State Route 516 with an asphalt overlay finish scheduled by mid-May — repairs on Roads 3000 and 3500 continue as Road 3000 is set to reopen in June while delays affect Road 3500. Local events for National Small Business Week are planned for May 10, with a fair at Berg Park River Reach Terrace from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. — and the Music for Masada Benefit Concert at the Farmington Civic Center starting at 5:00 p.m.  Farmington Local News
  • Marriage license fees in New Mexico will rise from $25 to $55 on June 20 under Senate Bill 290, which will split the fee as $15 to the county’s general fund and $20 each to the county clerk and state treasurer (for the Children's Trust Fund).  KOAT
  • Housing New Mexico approved over $3 million in January to fund its HOME Rehabilitation Program that offers free repairs for eligible homeowners facing health or safety issues. Eligible applicants include public and private non-profit organizations, governmental housing agencies, and tribal housing groups who must apply through designated service providers.  KOAT
