- ➤ The New Mexico Board of Nursing reported an 18% increase in licenses during the first half of this fiscal year, marking progress in easing the nursing shortage. Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham formed a Nursing Shortage Task Force to aim for 3,200 new nurses annually by 2032. KOAT
- ➤ Dr. Michelle Harkins said on May 7 that New Mexico records about ten hantavirus cases a year that differ from a contagious Andes strain linked to a cruise ship bound for the Canary Islands, where three were affected. Officials stress the virus does not spread between people & advise calm. KOAT
