- ➤ A billion-dollar geothermal energy project—developed by XGS Energy and Meta—is planned in New Mexico to harvest 150 megawatts of power for 100,000 homes. Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham said the project will use geothermal energy from the earth to create jobs and deliver cleaner power, with the first site expected to open by 2030. KOAT
