- ➤ State Treasurer Laura Montoya warns that scammers using a spoofed phone call and a fraudulent email are targeting New Mexicans by threatening to freeze bank accounts or prompting unauthorized transactions—she advises reporting any such contact immediately. KOAT
- ➤ On Tuesday, July 15, local and state officials including Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman, BCSO Sheriff John Allen, and the Farmington Police Department held a press conference to call for tougher juvenile crime laws that update a code not revised since 1978—citing serious incidents like a 17-year-old’s firearm discharge that nearly killed a person—with Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham's office noting a special session may be convened to address these concerns. KOAT
