- ➤ AAA projects record-breaking travel this Thanksgiving with over 73 million vehicles expected nationwide and more than 6.3 million in the Mountain Region—New Mexico drivers will need to check their vehicles and prepare for higher pump prices and common roadside issues; Sunport officials expect 167,000 air travelers from Nov 22 to Dec 1 and advise arriving two hours early as the airport will see about 20,000 passengers on Sunday. - ➤ The New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department reminds residents that $390,000 in unclaimed money and property is available—claims usually average around $500. Everyone is encouraged to check the state tool to see if they are owed money. KOAT
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health officials say horses from New Mexico that attended the WPRA World Finals and Elite Barrel Race in Waco on Nov. 5 to 9 and an event in Oklahoma may have been exposed to equine herpes myeloencephalopathy. The New Mexico Livestock Board recommends isolating affected horses for two weeks and closely monitoring their temperature — if it rises above 102.5 degrees, owners should contact a veterinarian and cancel or postpone upcoming equine events.
