- ➤ Mela Lucero Leger (an educator advocating bilingual learning) is honored today in La Loma with a roadside marker recognizing decades of work preserving language and culture, which helped pass the Bilingual Multicultural Education Act that allows schools to teach in Spanish and Indigenous languages with English.
